Multicert has released a new version of the Remote Certificate Manager application that allows you to register Multicert remote certificates on your computer and use them as if it were a physical certificate.
The new application is mID for Desktop.
Both applications are compatible with:
- Supported browsers: MS Edge and Google Chrome.
- Supported operating systems: Windows 8.1 or higher.
- The Internet Explorer 11 browser is not supported with default settings.
mID for Desktop

Steps to install mID for Desktop
- To run the .msi file, please click here.
- Click Next to continue with the installation.
- Read and accept the Terms and Conditions by selecting the corresponding option, then click Next.
- Select the destination folder (we recommend keeping the suggested option) and click Next.
- To finish, click Install.
- If the following Operating System control window appears, click Yes.
- Next, the installation completion window will appear, prompting you to start the application. Click Finish to complete the installation of Multicert ID for Desktop.
Register remote certificates on mID for Desktop
- Starting the aplication the following window will appear
- So that you can use your remote certificates you must register them by loging in on your client account. When you click Iniciar Sessão you'll be redirected to your browser
- In your browser you must provide your email adress and password of your account. If you don't remember your password click on Esqueceu-se da sua password?
- After loging in the following window will appear and you must return to the mID for desktop app
- Returning to mID for desktop the list of your certificates will appear. To use the certificate you must click on Registar Certificado
- The detail of the certificate will appear and you must click on Registar Certificado
- Next will appear a message that your certificate has been sucessfuly registered
Remove registration of a remote certificate on mID for Desktop
To remove the registration of a remote certificate it's necessary to
- Click on Remover Registo
- Next will appear the details of the certificate. Doing this you'll only remove the access to the certificate. The certificate will remain as is.
Remote Certificates Manager (previous version)
The app Multicert Remote Sign available for Microsoft Windows allows you to register your remote certificates on your computer.
To do so please follow these steps:

Download the app Multicert Remote Sign available for Windows 8.1 or higher:
- 32bits - MulticertRemoteSign-1.1.1-win32.zip
- 64bits - multicertremotesign-111-x64.zip
- Unzip the file with password provided
- Run the installation file with administrator permissions

Run the aplication and accept the Terms and Conditions (Aceito os termos do Contrato de Licença) to continue
and click on the Instalar (Install) button
5. Check the option Start the Multicert Remote Sign (Iniciar Gestor de Certificados Remotos) and click Finish (Concluir)
